Grandad singing a 1920s love ballad
This is Dr. Bill Baker. He is teacher to many/mentor to many/coach to many/friend to every one he meets/the family touchstone and my grandfather. He has been a source of inspiration/motivation to me since the beginning, a ROCK. There's no one I love more. This past year he has been fighting for recovery from a stroke. I have learned by watching him and his quiet determination. He will never ever give up. He wakes up everyday with a golden attitude. He has been frustrated and down some days but he NEVER dwells. He takes it to the next level. Keeps pushing himself. He doesn't get caught up in the bull shit.
All my life he has taught me to work hard, to love and value people, to take every opportunity to make other people's lives better, and to find happiness everyday. "Its up to you", he'll say. He reminds me that its always up to me. How I handle any given situation. My attitude is my choice. If someone were to ask me who I want to be like, who I want to emulate, who is my greatest mentor, I would say Bill Baker because to me, he is the best of the best. He has always told me to be the best, the fastest, the strongest, and to finish first and when I'm not, get back to work. So here I go!..
I will always create movement. I will learn everyday. I will never be bored. I will be grateful. I will make every environment I'm in better. I will be the fastest. I will be strongest. I will rise to my potential. I will never give up.
