First time w/ Fran...

65# Thrusters
... Oh, so deceiving...
This is Crossfit Central's Coach Carey Kepler and Coach Crystal McReynolds makin' it look fun!...
I guess that's what the pros do, right?....

I have never done Fran before and want to know what your first Fran was like... Let me know!... I will be doing it within the next 2 weeks. I have been crossfitting over a year - Its time!...


  1. My first Fran went something like this... pick up the bar, half way down thrusters 21 unbroken...pullups broken up into a set of 15 then 6...then it went south real fast. I muscled through the set of 15 thrusters unbroken, which I shouldn’t have, cause I was wrecked after that. Set of 15 pullips, I think I was doing 2’s and 1’s. Felt like I was going to vomit, held it down, thrusters went 3x3... 9 pullups went slow is all I remember.
    time; 11:?? don’t remember. just layed on the floor for 30mins. My 3rd crossfit workout ever

  2. Em, you're gonna kill it! I've only done it once, and it was a scaled version. I've been crossfitting for a year and a half and STILL haven't found time to do it RX'd. If you're gonna do in the next two weeks, girl, I'll try and get it done too! :)

  3. Kudos! I've heard about this infamous FRAN! It's a monster. I wouldn't know from experience but it sure is a goal of mine one day!! Let me know how it goes!!! 3-2-1-EXPLODE! :)

  4. first FRAN and the only one I remember to date....was deceptive!! (although C-Rock swears I did it with her last year, I can't remember and don't have a time if it happened) It took me over 9 and something minutes and I did jumping pull ups. Carey Kepler had just gotten her kipping pull-ups and in CK fashion she set the bar for the rest of the ladies at that College Station event (over 3 yrs ago)
